Patalbhuwaneshwor is a giant cave which is about 45 km deep situated in Baitadi district. Mythology states that it was the home and meeting place of several gods and goddesses. There is also a big lake at the top of cave and a spring on its norhteast side. Patalbhwaneshwor is a favorite site for worshippers of Lord Shiva, espacially during the festival, Shivaratri Parwa.
